Enable cookies for your browser

Cookies are small files stored on your device which are essential for running Slido. If you get a message "Enable cookies" when trying to join a Slido event, it means that cookies are blocked in the settings of your browser.

Jump into the Privacy settings of your browser to enable storing cookies. If this is new to you, below are detailed guides on how to enable cookies for some of the major browsers:


Google Chrome for Desktop

  1. Click the 3 dots in the top-right corner of Chrome, then navigate to Settings
  2. In the Settings, type Content settings into search box. Alternatively, scroll to the very bottom, click Advanced and look for the Content settings in the Privacy and security section
  3. From the Content settings, go to Cookies
  4. Next to Blocked, toggle on the switch. This will enable the cookies
  5. Refresh the page

Google Chrome (Android app)

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app
  2. At the top right, tap the three dots and go to Settings
  3. Tap Site settings and then Cookies
  4. Turn on Cookies
  5. Now that you successfully enabled cookies, go back to Slido and refresh the page.


Google Chrome (iOS app)

In Google Chrome app on iPads and iPhones, cookies are automatically turned on and stay on.


Safari (MacOS High Sierra)

  1. Click Safari in the top left corner of your screen and go to Preferences. Alternatively, hit "Cmd + ,"
  2. Go to Privacy tab
  3. Untick the box next to Block all cookies. You have now enabled cookies.
💡If you wish to allow cookies just for Slido, go to Manage website data

Safari (iOS)

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, then Safari
  2. Turn off the toggle next to Block All Cookies
  3. Go back to Slido in Safari and refresh the page.


Internet Explorer 11

  1. In IE 11, click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select Internet options
  2. Go to the Privacy tab and click Advanced
  3. Select Accept for both First-party and Third-party cookies
  4. Return to Slido and refresh the page.


Mozilla Firefox

  1. In your Firefox, click Tools menu and select Options
  2. Select Privacy
  3. From the drop-down menu, select Use custom settings
  4. Check off Accept cookies from sites to allow for Slido to work properly


Microsoft Edge

  1. In your browser, click More located in the top-right corner and select Settings
  2. Scroll down and click View advanced settings
  3. Under Cookies, choose Don't block cookies
